You will be managing staff and you will have a natural ability to communicate effectively to get the desired outcomes. You will support your manager in all facets of business and your duties will be as follows:Provide support to EL2 Directors and General Counsel by facilitating the development and implementation of best privacy practice in processes and procedures.Work closely with EL1 colleagues to ensure consistency in terms of feedback to staff. For example, advices and incidents, and consistency in the interpretation and application of privacy principles and other legislative framework.Manage and supervise staff (APS 5, APS 6 and contractors) in relation to attendance and overall performance.Provide mentoring to increase performance, engagement and retention.Guide staff about task prioritisation.Manage a personal caseload of complex privacy incidents and advice, including responses to investigations by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.Action and prepare Ministerial responses relating to privacy.Resolve and/or escalate sensitive issues, including the provision of expert advice and feedback to stakeholders and the department?s Executives.Prepare and review high quality written material, including business cases and reports and for external stakeholders.Assist with the preparation reports to Executives, Briefs and Senate Estimates, as required.Develop and/or facilitate training packages.Assist with the development and improvement of internal operational products.Other duties as required by the BranchYou must have the ability to:articulate/ communicate own viewscritically assess own interpretation and others? interpretationthe ability to find common ground in terms of work practices and interpretationto escalate matters to Director and/or General Counsel (as appropriate) to ensure minimal interruption to workflow and s consistent approach by the branch to the review/resolution of privacy incidentsto meet regularly with colleagues and EL1/EL2 staff to workshop matters, as a means to ensure consistency in the approach to decision-makingYou will be supported by a great team of professionals and you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team that will allow you to really use your talents for this work.As a short term (up until July 31st 2019 with the possibility of a long term extension), you will be an employee of the MVP, therefore you will be offered many benefits that include paid leave, a competitive salary and other great company incentives.
